Firearm Training and Qualification
IAEPA Firearm Basics
This course is appropriate for individuals who want to learn the basics of firearm handling and fundamentals.
This course teaches the basic knowledge, skills and attitude needed for owning and using a firearm safely. Students will learn about the firearms parts, operation, ammunition, gun safety and handling, selecting a firearm and much more.
This course also covers types of firearms (i.e., Pistols - single and double revolver actions and semi-automatic actions). This results in a much broader knowledge of the firearm type.
This is a one day course which includes range time. Textbook and course materials are provided.

Using the NRA training method of Total Participant Involvement, this basic course provides hands on learning opportunities in the following areas:
- Safe Firearm Handling
- Firearm Parts and Operation
- Ammunition and its Function
- Shooting Fundamentals
- Firearm Laws and Licensing
- How to Select, Clean and Store a Firearm
- Practical Live Fire on the Range (Ammunition will be provided)
Certificate Awarded after successful completion of this course.

Cost: $150.00 per person
Basic Pistol and Firearm Fundamentals Course
NRA Basic Pistol, Rifle and Shotgun Courses
A Certificate of Training is awarded at the completion of each course above. Student is responsible to bring his/her own firearm and ammunition. Firearms will be holstered, action open and unloaded until ready to use. All firearms will be inspected by the Range Safety Officer. Student and instructor will meet at the training academy for firearm orientation training and safety briefing before heading to the range.
